The best luxury hotels in Dubai

Dubai has one of the world’s greatest concentrations of luxury hotels, in four settings: beach resorts on Palm Jumeirah and the Jumeirah coast, towers in DIFC and Downtown, a new generation of landmarks by the Creek, and desert retreats an hour from the city. Below are some that set the standard; which one suits your stay, and which suite or villa in it, is your advisor’s to recommend.

Beach, city or desert?

The beach resorts of Palm Jumeirah and the Jumeirah coast are where most luxury travellers stay in the cool season, with private beaches, pools and beach clubs, and the city a short drive away. DIFC and Downtown suit a city stay, close to the galleries, the restaurants and the Burj Khalifa. The desert resorts, in the conservation reserve and the dunes outside the city, are for a night or two of silence and stars.

Many journeys combine a beach resort with a night or two in the desert.

Villas, mansions and royal suites.

Dubai’s finest hotels keep remarkable private accommodation. The Bvlgari Resort has twenty villas, including the 5,800-square-foot Bvlgari Villa with its own beach, alongside private mansions; One&Only The Palm has beachfront villas of two and three bedrooms with private pools; and The Lana, Dorchester Collection, has royal suites of more than 3,500 square feet.

At Atlantis The Royal, suites and penthouses come with their own pools, and Bab Al Shams in the desert has a two-bedroom villa with its own pool. Whether the villa or suite you want is free on your dates is what your advisor finds out.

For families.

The beach resorts suit families best, with pools, private beaches and space to spread out, and the city’s theme parks, waterparks and indoor skiing are close by. A night in the desert, with its dunes and wildlife, is a highlight for children of every age.

Privacy and discretion.

Dubai’s hotels routinely host royalty, heads of state and public figures. Private beach clubs, VIP arrivals, helicopter transfers and dedicated royal suites are part of how they work, and an advisor arranges the details before you arrive.

Recognised by Michelin and Forbes.

Atlantis The Royal holds three MICHELIN Keys, the highest distinction and the only three-Key hotel in the UAE. The Forbes Travel Guide rates several of the hotels below as Five-Star, including the Bvlgari Resort, Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, the Four Seasons at Jumeirah Beach and in DIFC, the Waldorf Astoria DIFC and Address Beach Resort.

Temporarily closed.

Some of Dubai’s best-known hotels are closed for renovation as of late 2026, including Jumeirah Burj Al Arab and the Armani Hotel Dubai. An advisor confirms reopening dates before you plan around them.

What booking through an advisor adds.

Advisors’ relationships with hotels bring benefits such as an upgrade on arrival, a hotel credit and early check-in, and suites and villas that never reach public booking sites. Your advisor tells you which apply to your stay, and arranges the private arrival, the desert night and the tables that fill first.

Your questions.

What is the most luxurious hotel in Dubai?

Atlantis The Royal holds three MICHELIN Keys, the only three-Key hotel in the UAE, and the Bvlgari Resort, with its villas and private beach, is rated Five-Star by Forbes and holds two Keys.

Is it better to stay on the beach or in the city?

In the cool season, most luxury travellers stay on the beach on Palm Jumeirah or the Jumeirah coast, with the city a short drive away. DIFC and Downtown suit a city stay or a business trip.

Which Dubai hotels have private villas?

The Bvlgari Resort has twenty villas, including one of 5,800 square feet with its own beach, and One&Only The Palm has two- and three-bedroom beachfront villas with private pools.

Is the Burj Al Arab open?

As of late 2026 it is closed for renovation. An advisor can confirm its reopening date before you plan.

Is it better to book through an advisor or directly?

The rate is usually the same, and an advisor’s relationships with the hotels can add benefits such as upgrades and credits, along with private arrivals and the tables that fill first.
